About the Association: The Worthing Allotments and Gardens Association (WAGA) was founded in 1948 as a voluntary association. It has members from all 8 local allotment sites. WAGA also has regular gardening members who do not rent an allotment. WAGA runs events such as the Annual Show, Plotholder newsletter, coach trips, BBQs and other social events and the 3 site shops at Chesswood Farm, Humber Avenue and West Tarring. Please note you MUST be a paid up member to make purchases from these stores, but membership is open to everyone. Membership can be done in store or via post. Current Membership of WAGA costs: £5 for your first year and then to renew at £3 per year. WAGA is also affiliated with the RHS & National Vegetable Society. |
Worthing Allotment Management (WAM) is an entirely separate organisation run by the allotment tenants which organises the letting of plots; appoints overseers and minimises cost by organising volunteer teams to perform site maintenance.
The Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and the management and accounting structures of WAM and WAGA are entirely separate. A tenancy with a WAM contract does not include annual membership of WAGA. |
