What to do if you want an allotment in Worthing
From the 1st October 2015 all of the allotment sites except for Humber Avenue will be managed by Worthing Allotment Management (WAM) and you must apply to their waiting list.
Humber Avenue will continue to be run by Worthing Borough Council (WBC)
I want to apply for an allotment in Worthing at any site other than Humber
The length of the list will vary by site and smaller sites will obviously have fewer vacancies per year. You can, if you wish, choose one large site and one small site nearest to your home and apply for both.
Meanwhile, you could apply to be a co-worker for an existing tenant. You might also wish to know about the garden share scheme operated by Transition Town Worthing, or Landshare.

The Humber Avenue allotment site is managed by Worthing Borough Council (WBC)

Charges for Worthing allotments
For the 2015/16 allotment year which commences on 1st October 2015, the charge for Humber Avenue allotments is £8.80 per rod. Prices are subject to an annual increase in April, prices correct as at 01-04-2015. WAM rent for their seven sites is currently £8.00 per rod. .
Any tenant who reaches 65 years of age can apply to the Council (Humber Avenue site only) for a discount of 30%. Proof of age is required to claim this discount. This can be in the form of a photocopy of your bus pass, birth certificate or some other official document showing your date of birth on it. WAM operate a similar discount and you will need to contact WAM if you have an allotment on one of their sites.
